“My journey with postural alignment therapy started 15 years ago with a bad car accident.
Neck , shoulder pain with numbness on right arm and hand, low back, right hip and knee pains which almost immobilized my whole body with pain with each step I took. I started with traditional methods to get my body to be good as before by taking pain meds, physical therapy for 6 months or more but the pains were not getting better. I began my professional journey as a physical therapist over 20 years ago, where I worked with varied populations - pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics, with mostly orthopedic conditions. I have been active my whole life, and experienced different injuries over the years. As a physical therapist, I learned how to treat others and myself. Around 2015, I was having hip pain and decided to research other exercises to incorporate in my own recovery. During my exploration, I found The Egoscue Method of Posture Alignment. I completed the Posture Alignment Specialist certification, the Advanced training, and opened my business Realign By Randee. This has helped me optimize patient treatments, address the root cause and look at the body as a whole.

A friend of mine made me discover Egoscue when I was in the middle of a back pain crisis years ago. I loved the exercices and started to do them several times a day. I felt I was able to take care of my body on my own, without medication and without the help of a therapist. So I decided to become a therapist myself, to learn people how to become independent in helping their body to move without pain. Till they don’t need a therapist anymore… As a Tai Chi teacher, I understand better now the limitations of movement of my students. I have a profound respect for the body, such a very complex construction. And at the same time simple to understand if we recognize the importance of balance and centering.

In 2003 I was working in a fitness facility as a personal trainer and began dealing with muscular pain regularly. I had tried other methods and though it seemed to help for a short time, I could not make the symptoms go away. I was introduced to the Egoscue Method by a colleague which was an aha moment for me. I learned I needed to treat the posture and not the symptom. Learning about my method changed my focus from personal training to postural therapy and I became a certified Posture Therapist in 2006.
In 2008 I opened my own studio, Functional FItness. I have been working with clients in person and virtually for 16 years to help them become pain free, prevent injuries and move without limitations. I feel the foundation to our health is a balanced body and posture therapy can help you achieve this. My motto is Change your posture- Change your life! |
